Analyst/Senior Analyst Provider Solutions

Analysts at AVIA are responsible for conducting research on healthcare providers’ needs and the technology solutions that address these needs. Analysts have a breadth of responsibilities, ranging from analyzing health systems’ innovation capabilities to conducting primary and secondary research on technology solutions. Analysts must have a deep passion for improving healthcare and will quickly be immersed in multiple client engagements and research initiatives. Given AVIA’s growth, we are looking to add new Analysts to our Chicago-based team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research: Research market trends and provider clients’ priorities.  Conduct due diligence and initial screenings of digital health, care delivery, and operations companies to be brought forth to AVIA’s clients. Conduct primary and secondary research such as: management and client interviews, product demos, conference attendance, and more. 
  • Project Management: Manage day-to-day aspects of projects with AVIA clients in order to ensure the execution of high-quality and timely work products. 
  • Deliverable creation: Analysts are responsible for synthesizing notes and information and distilling concise takeaways and outcomes.  Analysts will analyze both quantitative and qualitative information and develop deliverables for clients including creation of presentation / PowerPoint materials, the manipulation of data in Excel, and the writing of reports.
  • Provider services: Support the delivery of services to AVIA’s members by understanding client challenges/priorities and performance requirements, executing deliverables, and supporting client interactions and presentations.
  • Special projects: Assist with special projects such as landscape analyses and topic white papers, marketing, AVIA-led working sessions and events, and more.

Required Experience and Skills

  • BS/BA degree
  • 2+ years of post-graduation work experience in the healthcare industry
  • Comfort working and taking initiative in an entrepreneurial environment that requires one to be adaptable, self-motivated, and enthusiastic
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to make sense of complex qualitative and quantitative data and to thrive in environments with limited information and data
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and basic proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to travel at least 20% of the time is required

Director of Client Operations

The Director of Client Operations is responsible for accelerating transformation within health systems within AVIA’s Innovator Network. In order to be successful in this role, the candidate will need to quickly establish and build long-term relationships with key client sponsors and other senior leaders to influence decision-making and accelerate the adoption of solutions that have been pre-screened and thoroughly vetted by AVIA’s provider solutions team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the growth and success of 5 to 7 AVIA accounts as measured by client retention rates, solution adoption rates, upsell opportunity identification, and client satisfaction rates.
  • Establishes a broad footprint of relationships within each account and detailed knowledge of their strategic priorities, organizational processes, and operational constraints.
  • Builds trust with health system leaders to shape their decisions and accelerate decision making, specifically with respect to solutions that address a specific health system need and deliver a compelling ROI.
  • Develops client communications tailored to a range of audiences, from senior health care executives to key influencers and other partnership stakeholders.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for healthcare executives at assigned accounts, , responding to client requests, and identifying appropriate AVIA resources to deliver value and results.
  • Prepares and leads client calls and on-site visits effectively managing expectations, progress and planning for value delivery.
  • Continually monitors client activity and identifies opportunities for AVIA to expand the range of services it provides to each account.
  • Gathers and shares client feedback to contribute to product development efforts and increased client satisfaction across AVIA’s portfolio of provider clients.
  • Supports and refines standardized account management processes.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of work experience in business development, health care management or equivalent consulting experience required.  Knowledge of the hospital and health system landscape is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making, close deals, and manage a large, complex book of business, including management of renewals and identification of cross-sell opportunities.
  • Experience in leveraging a CRM to drive client communication and internal reporting; working knowledge of SugarCRM is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions beneficial to clients with understanding of impact to overall company resources.
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent rapport with clients, internal and external.
  • Superb problem solving skills and strong interpersonal skills to effectively convey management needs to colleagues and functions throughout the company.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present to internal and external senior management teams.
  • Comfort working in an entrepreneurial environment and dealing with ambiguity is a must.
  • Ability to travel 50-60% of the time is required.

Director of Marketing

AVIA Health Innovation is currently seeking a Director of Marketing. This is a critical role at AVIA, and an opportunity to develop and execute a broad marketing strategy. You’ll need to be both a strategic thinker and a highly-productive doer. AVIA is enjoying continued success in the market, and we need a proven marketing leader to raise our game in several areas: branding, messaging, public relations, digital marketing, and social media. And since our marketing team is “lean”, you’ll need to bring skills in writing, content development, web design, and more.

Key Responsibilities

The director will work with internal and external players, leveraging their skills and expertise to raise the awareness of AVIA as a thought leader in healthcare innovation. The director will work closely with the Client Operations and Business Development teams to further develop AVIA’s brand within our network and across the market. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a cross-channel content marketing strategy that translates business and marketing goals into meaningful content deliverables.
  • Lead AVIA’s PR and media efforts to include the development of story ideas and the release/pitch to appropriate media outlets to attract interviews and articles.
  • Create and/or manage content for AVIA, including press releases, blogs, infographics, videos, website and social media outlets by working with both internal and external content contributors.
  • Lead the strategy, execution and editing of the quarterly and annual provider network and investor newletters/updates.
  • Establish and report on key metrics to assess marketing effectiveness, including web traffic, PR activity, social media activity, and more.
  • Establish and maintain brand standards in terms of quality, tone, style and grammar.  Ensure corporate communications are consistent and professional.
  • Manage the marketing/PR budget and negotiate contracts with third-party vendors.
  • Act as a coach and mentor for other AVIA staff - including the development of talking points/speeches for senior level staff.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of healthcare marketing experience
  • Experience writing about health systems or writing from the healthcare venture perspective is preferred.
  • Degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, communications, english or other related communications field.Knowledge of important healthcare trends, including the transition to fee-for-value.
  • Stellar writing, editing and proof reading skills - writing samples required.
  • Experience developing and managing website content is required.
  • Existing reporter relationships in the health system or venture sector.
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of overseeing projects and multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills to ensure deadlines are met and work proceeds.

Director of Finance

Reporting to the COO and serving as an integral member of the management team, the Director of Finance will be responsible for the development and execution of AVIA’s financial management strategy and contribute to the development of the organization’s strategic goals. In addition to the strategic components, he/she will be charged with developing, implementing and executing policies and procedures both in the finance and investment realms.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy, Vision and Leadership

  • Advise senior management on financial planning budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities and policy matters.
  • Perform investment analysis to include financial modeling/forecasting.
  • Represent the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in banking and tax related issues.

Operations

  • Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards and procedures to include:
    • Manage all company tax planning to include quarterly meetings with CPA and annual tax return filings
    • Manage all company legal interactions with regard to portfolio investments and corporate structure
    • Monthly close
    • Financial reporting
    • Quarterly investor newsletters
  • Plan, coordinate and execute the annual budget process.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute the valuation process on an as-needed basis
  • Ensure that AVIA is adhering to the strategic plan, delivering status reports to the management team and board.
  • Provide analytical support to AVIA’s internal management team including development of internal management reporting capabilities.
  • Management of AVIA’s cap table, investment transactions, employee equity grant paperwork and advisor equity grant paperwork.

Portfolio

  • Manage quarterly updates from portfolio companies
  • Manage administrative and operational accounting services as they relate to portfolio companies to include:
    • Compute and update “earn-in” equity
    • Filing taxonomy of portfolio company information (Board, cap table, financial, legal and other)
    • Portfolio valuation summary (NAV Analysis)
    • Portfolio deal review - develop a due diligence review process for potential portfolio companies.
    • Support negotiation of earn-in-equity opportunities with portfolio investment companies, providing appropriate financial modeling and considerations. 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Business or Accounting degree mandatory, a master’s in business administration is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years and a maximum of 10 years experience ideally with in-house financial management experience gained in a high-growth organization
  • Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills

Clinical Director of Provider Solutions

AVIA is offering qualified people the opportunity to help transform healthcare providers and, thereby, our healthcare system. The Clinical Director of Provider Solutions is responsible for engaging health systems in the issues that matter most to their organization. This individual will work across the clinical and business teams of our providers to help them leverage best-of-breed emerging technologies to achieve the Triple Aim: improving the experience of care, improving the health of populations and reducing per capita costs of health care.

Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Director of Provider Solutions, with their knowledge of the complexities of provider environments, is responsible for leading AVIA’s health system members to action.  Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a clinical leader and subject matter expert across all cohort topics.

  • Leverage clinical experience to:

    • Engage key stakeholders at client organizations in the provider setting

    • Translate health system and clinical operational needs into technical functionality

    • Facilitate discussions and decision making around cohort topics and solutions

  • Lead senior level meetings at provider organizations to drive alignment around a decision.

  • Ensure all cohort topics are framed in a clinical context and provide guidance on prioritization for healthcare systems.

  • Support the creation of AVIA provider playbooks to support implementation.

  • In conjunction with the VP of Client Experience, encouraging health system participation in cohorts organized around the CPC(s) and identifying additional service opportunities.

  • In conjunction with Directors of Provider Solutions, develop perspectives on technology-enabled solutions and their ability to address each cohort topic.

  • Serve as AVIA clinical expert, including speaking at conferences and events regarding the trends and opportunities within this space.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience within the healthcare sector with direct experience working in a health system, academic medical center or community hospital.

  • RN with leadership experience with additional degree encouraged (e.g., BSN, MSN, MPH, MHA) 

  • Ability to interact with and be an advisor to the healthcare c-suite as a thought partner.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives or projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to draw insights from large amounts of activity in the healthcare market.

  • Interest in and/or experience with innovative technology-enabled healthcare solutions (e.g., digital health).

  • Desired but not required - experience with selecting and implementing a tech enabled solution at a provider organization

  • Comfort working in an entrepreneurial environment and dealing with ambiguity is a plus.

  • Ability to travel 25% of the time is required.
