Analyst/Senior Analyst Market Strategies

Market Strategies at AVIA is responsible for bringing the strategic needs of health systems, an understanding of the market, and knowledge of emerging technologies together to set AVIA’s innovation agenda. Network health systems expect a ‘view’ on where and when to act that is current, practical, personalized, and demonstrates deep rigor in understanding the fundamentals. Analysts at AVIA are responsible for primary and secondary research on healthcare providers’ needs and the technology solutions that address these needs, as well as trends, finance, and policy framing a problem. Analysts must have a deep passion for improving healthcare and will quickly be immersed in multiple client engagements and research initiatives. Given AVIA’s growth, we are looking to add new Analysts to our Chicago-based team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market research: Research market trends in healthcare, technology, health finance and policy. Synthesize from many sources to identify implications of market intelligence for prior and future cohort topics and other AVIA products. Become “the person who has a pulse on the market.”
  • Provider services: Analysts embody the AVIA ethos of service excellence. Analysts build understanding of client challenges/priorities and performance requirements and support client interactions and presentations including executive level steering committees and discussions.
  • Company research: Research innovative tech-enabled solutions companies, including product demos and management team conversations. Identify segments within a solution space and the varying functionalities offered by technologies in each segment. Conduct due diligence and initial screenings of digital health, care delivery, and operations companies to support the priorities of network health systems, innovation competitions AVIA supports, conferences. Become a “tech companies expert.”
  • Knowledge management and project management: Organize firm knowledge about companies and trends in a consistent, scalable way. Bring a high level of organization and strong ability to communicate. Manage day-to-day aspects of projects with AVIA clients in order to ensure the execution of high-quality and timely work products. 
  • Deliverable creation: Analysts are responsible for synthesizing and distilling information and identifying action.  Analysts will analyze both quantitative and qualitative information and develop deliverables for clients (for example, presentations, value calculations, briefs).

Requirements and Attributes

AVIA sets the bar high. Our team is passionate about understanding fundamental drivers of problems and solutions. For the analyst role, we expect:

  • BS/BA degree
  • 2+ years of post-graduation work experience
  • Experience/understanding of tech or health systems a plus
  • Ability to identify signal in the noise; ability to synthesize information from disparate sources and identify the interrelationships and dependencies
  • Comfort coupling qualitative and quantitative data and practical sense
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong communicator, in both speech and writing
  • Enthusiasm to join an entrepreneurial team and an environment that requires adaptability, comfort with ambiguity, and intrinsic motivation
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with clients and colleagues
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Able to travel 20-40% of the time

Analyst/Senior Analyst Provider Solutions

Analysts at AVIA are responsible for conducting research on healthcare providers’ needs and the technology solutions that address these needs. Analysts have a breadth of responsibilities, ranging from analyzing health systems’ innovation capabilities to conducting primary and secondary research on technology solutions. Analysts must have a deep passion for improving healthcare and will quickly be immersed in multiple client engagements and research initiatives. Given AVIA’s growth, we are looking to add new Analysts to our Chicago-based team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research: Research market trends and provider clients’ priorities.  Conduct due diligence and initial screenings of digital health, care delivery, and operations companies to be brought forth to AVIA’s clients. Conduct primary and secondary research such as: management and client interviews, product demos, conference attendance, and more. 
  • Project Management: Manage day-to-day aspects of projects with AVIA clients in order to ensure the execution of high-quality and timely work products. 
  • Deliverable creation: Analysts are responsible for synthesizing notes and information and distilling concise takeaways and outcomes.  Analysts will analyze both quantitative and qualitative information and develop deliverables for clients including creation of presentation / PowerPoint materials, the manipulation of data in Excel, and the writing of reports.
  • Provider services: Support the delivery of services to AVIA’s members by understanding client challenges/priorities and performance requirements, executing deliverables, and supporting client interactions and presentations.
  • Special projects: Assist with special projects such as landscape analyses and topic white papers, marketing, AVIA-led working sessions and events, and more.

Required Experience and Skills

  • BS/BA degree
  • 2+ years of post-graduation work experience in the healthcare industry
  • Comfort working and taking initiative in an entrepreneurial environment that requires one to be adaptable, self-motivated, and enthusiastic
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to make sense of complex qualitative and quantitative data and to thrive in environments with limited information and data
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and basic proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to travel at least 20% of the time is required

Director of Client Operations

The Director of Client Operations is responsible for accelerating transformation within health systems within AVIA’s Innovator Network. In order to be successful in this role, the candidate will need to quickly establish and build long-term relationships with key client sponsors and other senior leaders to influence decision-making and accelerate the adoption of solutions that have been pre-screened and thoroughly vetted by AVIA’s provider solutions team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the growth and success of 5 to 7 AVIA accounts as measured by client retention rates, solution adoption rates, upsell opportunity identification, and client satisfaction rates.
  • Establishes a broad footprint of relationships within each account and detailed knowledge of their strategic priorities, organizational processes, and operational constraints.
  • Builds trust with health system leaders to shape their decisions and accelerate decision making, specifically with respect to solutions that address a specific health system need and deliver a compelling ROI.
  • Develops client communications tailored to a range of audiences, from senior health care executives to key influencers and other partnership stakeholders.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for healthcare executives at assigned accounts, , responding to client requests, and identifying appropriate AVIA resources to deliver value and results.
  • Prepares and leads client calls and on-site visits effectively managing expectations, progress and planning for value delivery.
  • Continually monitors client activity and identifies opportunities for AVIA to expand the range of services it provides to each account.
  • Gathers and shares client feedback to contribute to product development efforts and increased client satisfaction across AVIA’s portfolio of provider clients.
  • Supports and refines standardized account management processes.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of work experience in business development, health care management or equivalent consulting experience required.  Knowledge of the hospital and health system landscape is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making, close deals, and manage a large, complex book of business, including management of renewals and identification of cross-sell opportunities.
  • Experience in leveraging a CRM to drive client communication and internal reporting; working knowledge of SugarCRM is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions beneficial to clients with understanding of impact to overall company resources.
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent rapport with clients, internal and external.
  • Superb problem solving skills and strong interpersonal skills to effectively convey management needs to colleagues and functions throughout the company.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present to internal and external senior management teams.
  • Comfort working in an entrepreneurial environment and dealing with ambiguity is a must.
  • Ability to travel 50-60% of the time is required.
