Eric LangshurCo-Founder/CEO

Eric Langshur
Eric is the CEO and co-founder of AVIA and co-founder of Abundant Venture Partners, a purpose based incubator focused on improving the human condition by creating companies that improve Human Wellness, Human Performance and Human Engagement.

A values-based entrepreneur, Eric is also a co-founder and director of LIFE CrossTraining and is also currently a director of Healthfinch, PUSH Wellness, Transparent Media Partners, and PatientWisdom.

Eric was an early leader in the social media field, as the founder of CarePages sold to Steve Case. Eric also founded Rise Health, a venture-backed healthcare digital technology company sold to Best Doctors.

Before transitioning to values-based entrepreneurship, Eric held top corporate executive positions at United Technologies Corporation and Bombardier Aerospace.

Eric is also a New York Times best-selling author. His book “Start Here: Master the Lifelong Habit of Wellbeing” was published by Simon and Schuster: North Star Way in 2016.

Ted MeiselCo-Founder

Ted Meisel
Ted is co-founder of AVIA and active in ensuring that the firm fulfills its mission of accelerating transformation in healthcare. He is an experienced healthcare and technology entrepreneur, executive and investor. He serves Hope Street Group, an agent of policy change in social sectors, as board chairman, and CMS as a senior adviser focused on delivery system and payment reform.

Ted is the former CEO of public company Overture Services, an internet search company, which he successfully grew to over $1 billion in revenues before selling to Yahoo! He was an investor at Elevation Partners, making investments in companies like Facebook, Yelp and Marketshare. He started his career working on strategy and change management engagements at Mercer and McKinsey.

Ted holds a JD from Stanford University and a BA from Dartmouth College.

Linda is an experienced business leader with a track record of more than 20 years running successful companies. She brings passion for execution and sustainable change, to our clients and our business.

Prior to joining AVIA, she served as Chief Operating Officer of Accretive Health’s population health business.

Linda holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Stanford University.

Linda joined AVIA because she was struck by the energy and passion that the team brings to work each and every day. The AVIA team is committed to achieving its goal and implementing change in healthcare.

Cynthia is a solutions-oriented healthcare strategist and innovator. As the leader of AVIA’s team in the West, Cynthia assures that AVIA member health systems are achieving the greatest value from adoption of digital solutions identified through AVIA’s unique membership model. She and her team work with members to deeply understand their strategy, market dynamics and aspirations to enable meaningful peer interactions with other members, and identification and implementation of innovative technologies to address critical organizational needs. Cynthia believes collaboration is the key to any organization seeking to implement significant change successfully.

Before joining AVIA, Cynthia served as the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Business Development at Hoag in Newport Beach, California. She led organizational strategic planning and business development in support of Hoag’s mission to provide the highest quality healthcare services to the communities of Orange County and beyond. Before joining, Hoag Cynthia served as Vice President of Corporate Development for Premier, Inc., a national alliance of health systems. She led Premier’s strategic growth into the United Kingdom and developed the business plan and first contract with the National Health Service for a hospital pay for performance program based on Premier’s CMS Hospital Quality Improvement Demonstration project. Cynthia co-founded and served as VP of Business Development for nTrusted, Inc., a consumer focused, health-related software company in San Diego. She also worked with a new venture developing innovative, point-of-care clinical information systems, leading business development, sales, and marketing.

Cynthia serves on the National Board of Trustees of the National MS Society. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

Patti is a results-oriented executive with deep knowledge of healthcare industry, alliances/GPOs, and executive networks. She has significant experience implementing corporate integrations and forming high-performance trusting teams across disparate skillsets and cultures, focused on designing and selling custom client and partner solutions with collaboration and tenacity. She is a leader who maximizes individual and team contributions, with achievements in executive relationship management, new business and program development, and client/partner acquisition and retention.

As the leader of AVIA’s client team in the East, Patti assures that AVIA member health systems are achieving the greatest value from adoption of digital solutions identified through AVIA’s unique membership model. She and her team work with members to deeply understand their strategy, market dynamics and aspirations to enable meaningful peer interactions with other members, and identification and implementation of innovative technologies to address critical organizational needs.

Peggy BaxterChief of Staff & Vice President, Network Engagement

As the VP of AVIA’s Client Operations team, Peggy organizes and leads efforts to ensure that AVIA’s health system partners receive value from their affiliation with AVIA.

Prior to joining AVIA, she served as a Client Development Executive with Objective Health, a group within McKinsey & Company created to provide strategic and operational consulting services to community and regional health systems. Before joining McKinsey, Peggy was a Regional Vice President with Sg2 and was responsible for managing business development initiatives across a diverse portfolio of leading hospitals and health systems.

Peggy holds a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago and a BA from the University of Vermont.

Peggy decided to join AVIA not long after having her second child. She decided it would be a great idea to make her husband quit his job, move from Boston, and immerse herself in the Eric and Ted "Zone of Genius."

As VP of Growth, Derek leads AVIA’s business development and marketing teams and engages with leading health systems to discuss potential membership in the AVIA Innovator Network.

Previously, Derek was an SVP for Health Language, guiding the company through explosive growth and its 2013 sale to Wolters Kluwer Health. He has also held marketing and product management leadership positions at Zynx Health and Practice Partner (now part of McKesson).

Derek holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington.

Derek joined AVIA for the opportunity to accelerate the work-in-progress transformation of American healthcare. And for the free lava lamp.

Mitch CorwinVice President, Finance

As Vice President of Finance, Mitch is responsible for the development and execution of financial management within the areas of strategy, operations, and portfolio management. He is also in charge of building, implementing and executing policies and procedures both in the finance and investment realms.

Prior to joining AVIA, Mitch served in corporate finance leadership positions Catamaran Corporation (acquired by OptumRx) and Walgreen Co. Before moving into corporate finance, where he led a team of stock research analysts at Morningstar, Inc. Mitch brings over 15 years of hands-on and successful experience leading Finance departments, new business initiatives, and consulting engagements.

Mitch is a CFA charterholder and a Certified Public Accountant. He holds a BBA degree from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business.

Mitch joined AVIA to be part of an energetic and passionate team dedicated to facing the most pressing challenges in healthcare today and driving meaningful change.

As VP of Provider Solutions, Ariana leads a team which presents and evaluates the best fit digital health solutions that meet providers’ most pressing challenges.

Prior to joining AVIA, Ariana worked as a management consultant with Bain & Company and the boutique firm, Mission Measurement. She advised companies on strategy, organizational change and measurement.. She also served as a research fellow at the Innosight Institute where she co-authored studies on disruptive innovations within integrated health systems.

Ariana holds a MBA from Harvard University and a BA from Pomona College.

Ariana joined AVIA because healthcare is an industry which impacts everyone and there is so much opportunity to make people’s lives better.

As Chief Operations Officer of HX360, Sharon brings an extensive background in accelerating early-stage technology and healthcare startup businesses with expertise in finance, human resources, legal, and insurance.

Sharon co-founded CarePages, Inc., a healthcare Internet service linking patients and families with their extended support community, in 2000, and operated in many different roles until its acquisition in 2007 by Revolution Health. In subsequent years, she consulted to several early-stage businesses including Rise Health, Inc., PublicInsite, Inc., and many others.

Sharon completed medical training at the University of Connecticut and underwent pediatric residency training at Northwestern University. She achieved a B.Sc. at McGill University and an M.S. at Sarah Lawrence College prior to her medical training.

Sharon currently sits on the Board of Trustees and chairs the Finance Committee of the Lycée Français de Chicago.

As Medical Director, Nelson provides clinical leadership and expertise in translating health system and clinical operational needs into opportunities for innovation.

Prior to AVIA, Nelson was Senior Clinical Advisor at InterSystems where he helped global healthcare organizations develop and execute strategies for better healthcare delivery through technology. At McKesson Provider Technologies, Nelson was Vice President of Medical Affairs, where he received the company’s award for innovative process improvement.

Nelson earned his MD from Boston University’s Accelerated BA/MD Program, completed his Residency in Pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital and Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He also holds a Graduate Certificate in Biomedical Informatics from Oregon Health and Sciences University and MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.

She also worked as the Executive Recruiter and Human Resources Representative for ChapterHouse, LLC.

Amanda holds a BS in Education with a concentration in Health and Human Services and a Professional in Human Resources certification from DePaul University.

Amanda is passionate about healthcare because, of the many on-going discussions on the state of healthcare. Everyone is concerned about the cost of healthcare, the availability and the quality of the services they receive.

Prior to joining AVIA, Michaelserved as Vice President of Client Relations at Sg2, responsible for client retention, business development, and product and service delivery across a diverse portfolio of health system clients. Earlier in his career, Michael worked as part of the strategy practice at Deloitte Consulting and held sales and marketing roles with Merck & Co.

Michael holds an MBA from Northwestern University and a BS from Miami University, Magna Cum Laude.

Michael joined AVIA because, like most kids growing up in Northeastern Ohio, he always dreamed of working for a leading innovation network and health system partner.

Prior to joining AVIA, she managed fundraising projects at Health Leads, a national organization that connects low-income hospital patients to vital social resources. Gena has also worked in Southern Africa as a strategy consultant for TechnoServe and as a member of the convenings team at New Profit Inc., a Boston-based venture philanthropy fund.

Gena holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA from Tufts University.

She joined AVIA to play a role in making healthcare as accessible and reliable as possible.

As the Director of Technology, Kevin leads the organization in technical strategy, architecture, and implementation of apps and tooling as well as deep-dive technical due diligence interviews of external partners.

Prior to joining AVIA, he was CTO at Level EX where he built the engineering team to create game-changing, ultra-realistic 3D virtual surgery mobile phone and tablet apps so physicians can master minimally invasive procedures without risk to live patients. Kevin has also led teams at NOKIA HERE Maps to develop data products such as Street View (360 degree panoramic imagery) plus cutting edge mobile apps showcasing next generation 3D Maps with glamorous 3D virtual flythroughs, clean Ux, and smart data visualization. Also he has extensive background in Virtual Reality across a range of devices and applications and interaction techniques, as well as core graphics rendering experience in the video games industry where he notably lead visual effects for StarWars the Force Unleashed for LucasFilm.

Kevin holds both a BS and MS in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University.

He joined AVIA because he saw the drive, passion, and articulate diverse spread of intelligence in the people there, and was excited at the potential to apply his experience to improve healthcare.

Prior to joining AVIA, he was a management consultant in Accenture’s health strategy practice where he served hospitals, payers, pharmaceutical companies, and venture capital firms. His work spanned market strategy, customer engagement and project management.

Tim holds an A.B. from Duke University and is earning his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

As a Director for the Provider Solutions team, Meredith manages the execution of cohorts, which help align provider needs with strategic solutions in a way that is thoughtful, innovative, and above all - executable.

She has worked across the care continuum, developing technology and providing operational and strategic support to a variety of healthcare providers. Most recently, Meredith worked in close connection with both hospitals and post acute care settings to improve discharge planning processes and hospitals’ relationships with post acute care providers.

She is a Fulbright Scholar with a B.A/B.S from Washington and Lee University.

Meredith is passionate about healthcare because—it’s a complex system of competing best intentions, and unraveling and aligning those competing forces for good is both exciting and impactful. She joined AVIA because of the unique and powerful opportunity to truly align incentives to improve outcomes for patients and providers.

Previously, Nicole was a Director at GE Ventures creating new business opportunities for GE and its partners in the area of digital health. She has also held marketing and product management leadership roles at GE Healthcare in traditional and emerging businesses.

Nicole holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BSE in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Iowa.

Nicole joined AVIA because it was the perfect opportunity to be center stage at the intersection of health and technology.

As a manager on the Provider Solutions team, Kathryn uses her healthcare software project management and implementation experience to enable innovation from both the provider and the solutions perspective.

Prior to joining AVIA, Kathryn was a project manager/implementation consultant at Epic, where she served health systems in their enterprise EHR deployments. Her work included testing leadership and revenue cycle advisory.

Kathryn holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame where she graduated cum laude.

Janice is the Manager of Market Strategies. Janice identifies hotspots in today’s healthcare landscape, where the challenges of health systems, marketplace trends, and innovative technologies intersect and craft an innovation agenda that compels providers to action.

Before coming to AVIA, Janice worked for Rush University Medical Center and transitioned several nursing units into their permanent location while optimizing workflow in subspecialty and multi-disciplinary clinics]. She has also worked with the executive team at the American Health Information Management Association to develop their international certification strategy.

Janice holds a MS in Health Systems Management from Rush University. She also holds a BA from Vanderbilt University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

Janice joined AVIA because of the opportunity to work with an incredible team while digging into a new and exciting arena in healthcare.

As a member of the Business Development team, Neal has been charged by health system leaders within ​the network to find and invite other health systems that are committed to utilizing digital ​solutions ​and collaborat​ing with​ the AVIA Innovator Network. Neal previously worked with specific members in a hands-on capacity to identify needs and scale solutions across the​ir​ system​s​.​

​Prior to joining AVIA, Neal sought to improve healthcare on a patient-by-patient basis as an Orthopedic Trauma Sales Representative for Stryker in the Chicago market. Through his intimate relationships with surgeons, OR staff and health systems, Neal experienced first-hand the challenges that providers face daily and joined AVIA to improve healthcare on a grander scale.

As a manager on the Client Operations team, Gabrielle uses her research and interviewing skills to ensure that AVIA’s cohort model connects the most promising and fitting technologies to AVIA’s Innovator Network.

Prior to joining AVIA, Gabrielle was a Research Associate for the Advisory Board Company’s Healthcare division. In her time at the Advisory Board Company, she developed research for hospitals’ Nursing and HR departments to improve initiatives such as patient experience, care coordination, and employee wellness.

Gabrielle holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Gabrielle joined AVIA because she immediately felt that her personal mission to help improve patient’s lives with innovative solutions aligned perfectly with AVIA’s business model and company culture.

Zak is a member of the Market Strategies team and endeavors to set a cogent and persuasive innovation agenda by understanding where creative solutions and health system challenges intersect with marketplace trends.

Prior to joining AVIA, Zak worked in Pricing Analytics and Strategy at Hub Group, a leader in Intermodal Transportation. He focused on building operational, financial, and forecasting models used to optimize network management, improve sales and pricing strategy, and better understand financial drivers.

Zak holds a B.A. from Wheaton College and is earning his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business.

She brings administration and customer service experience from her previous roles in sales and as a Department Manager at Nordstrom.

She graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in Psychology.

Dr. Button is an experienced clinical professional with many years’ experience in the healthcare industry. Throughout her career, Dr. Button’s passion has been improving the safety, quality, and efficiency of patient care. Her knowledge, skills, and experience include clinical practice, education, quality improvement, clinical informatics, clinical decision support, population health management, as well as product and project management.

Leveraging the combination of these skills, Dr. Button has held clinical, product and operational management, and senior leadership positions in a variety of health systems, educational, for profit and not for profit organizations including The Advisory Board Company, Zynx Health, and Cerner Corporation. She taught at Syracuse University School of Nursing, and has had Adjunct Faculty positions at various schools of nursing. She also held clinical leadership roles at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital to name a few.

Dr. Button has also held various consulting positions outside of the health care industry and enjoyed a “sabbatical” when she owned and ran The Heart of the Village Inn in Shelburne, Vermont. Dr. Button is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.

Dr. Button joins AVIA with excitement to support the company’s work in bringing together health systems to innovatively and effectively address key issues with technology solutions.

Molly Coye
Dr. Molly Joel Coye is Social Entrepreneur in Residence for the Network for Excellence in Health Innovation (NEHI), a nonprofit national health policy institute focused on advancing high-value innovations.

Previously, Dr. Coye was the Chief Innovation Officer for UCLA Health, heading the Institute for Innovation in Health and the Global Lab for Innovation. Dr. Coye was also the founder and CEO of the Health Technology Center (Health Tech), Commissioner of Health for the State of New Jersey, Director of the California State Department of Health Services, and Head of the Division of Public Health Practice at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene & Public Health.

Dr. Coye is a member of the Institute of Medicine and on the board of directors for Aetna, Inc., Prosetta Biosciences, Inc., Big White Wall, and ACCESS Health International. She previously served as Chair of the Board of Directors at PATH, and on the boards of American Hospital Association, and the China Medical Board. She holds MD and MPH degrees from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Asian History from Stanford University.

Greg is Founding Director of the Connecticut Institute for Primary Care Innovation, Professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut.

Previously, Greg was Senior Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer/Chief Academic Officer at Saint Francis Care.

He earned a BA from Wesleyan University, a PhD from Northwestern University, and an MS from Dartmouth College.

Greg joined the AVIA team because the people are fun to work with and are at the top of their game, the AVIA team is playing for all of the right reasons.

Bill Petasnick
Bill is one of our nation's leading healthcare executives with over 35 years of senior executive experience. He is the recently retired Chief Executive Officer of Froedtert Health Inc. in Milwaukee

Bill served as chair of the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees, the Wisconsin Hospital Association and the Council of Teaching Hospitals.

He holds an MHA from the University of Minnesota.

Bill has always thought that working in healthcare was a special calling, focusing on the patients has always guided direction and purpose. As the CEO of a major academic medical center he always made sure focus was never lost.

Amy Dirks Stevens
Amy has held significant leadership roles across the healthcare spectrum, including health systems, clinical integration organizations, ambulatory services, and physician practice management. She has been responsible for operations, strategy, and growth at local, regional, and enterprise levels for large, multi-national for-profit health systems with academic and quaternary centers, as well as community faith-based, non-profit systems. She was instrumental in receiving FTC-approval for one of the nation’s vanguard clinical integration organizations and later became its President, managing the MSO services and a network of over 50 healthcare entities, 6000 providers and 30 performance-based contracts with employers, commercial and government payors. Prior to healthcare, Ms. Stevens was a sought-after consultant in the energy and environmental sectors for contentious projects with high public visibility and business impact.

At AVIA, Amy leads the work to match the pressing problems and business drivers of member health systems with viable digital solutions in the market, and scan the horizon for emerging opportunities that can propel the innovation agenda forward.

Leslie Wainwright
Leslie has been a founding executive of multiple cutting-edge healthcare startup companies including Sg2 and AVIA. She is actively working on a third start up - Business Models Inc. – a global consultancy that helps organizations better define their current business model(s) and craft new ones to either keep pace or grow.

Her passion revolves around entrepreneurship, healthcare and innovation with her career spanning the disciplines of academic research, pharma/biotechnology and healthcare delivery. Leslie is a frequent speaker/facilitator on the future of healthcare, enabling technologies, disruptive innovation, growth strategies and emerging business models.

She received a Ph.D. from Northwestern University and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Maryland’s Center for Vaccine Development.

Leslie also serves on the Women’s Board of the Field Museum and is intensely involved in their Women in Science fundraising and program development.

Bob Rebitzer is a management consultant and healthcare executive who works with organizations seeking to safely reduce the cost, and improve the quality, of healthcare in the United States.​

​ Bob was a partner at Accenture where he was a founder of the healthcare strategy practice. He was also a vice president at United Behavioral Health, the behavioral health unit of UnitedHealthGroup and chief operating officer of Stanford University's Clinical Excellence Research Center (CERC).​

​​ Bob graduated with a master of business administration (MBA) from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a bachelor of science degree from the Honors Biology Program of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
